Sharmila Tagore blamed for Tiger Pataudi performance: Not just Anushka Sharma, veteran actor Sharmila Tagore too had been targeted for Mansoor Ali Khan’s (popularly known as Tiger Pataudi) poor performance on the field. However, while Sharma was blamed by Kohli's fans, Tagore endured it from none other than by her own father. In a recent interview, Tagore revealed that she was once accused of keeping Tiger Pataudi up all night and because of that, he had apparently dropped a catch during a match. Her father, Gitindranath Tagorehad blamed her for jinxing Tiger's performance.

Speaking during a recent &t=729s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">live session, Tagore revealed that once her late husband Tiger Pataudi had probably "dropped a catch" and "my father screamed from somewhere else, 'You shouldn't have kept him up all night!' I mean, can you imagine?"

Tagore's father was a corporate executive stationed in Hyderabad where she was born in 1944. The actor married cricketer Tiger Pataudi in 1968. While she was among the most popular women actors of the time, known for super hit films like Amar Prem, Kashmir Ki Kali, Mausam, Chupke-Chupke, Aradhana, Tiger was a renowned cricketer.

Tagore has never shied away from talking about her personal life in public. She also added how she met the ace cricketer at a party. She even recalled how once Pataudi tried to pass off Ghalib's verses as his own to impress her.

"I liked his sense of humour and I felt that this man is not going to hurt me on purpose. I trusted him and he was gentle and a gentleman. His humour was very wacky but I loved it," Tagore said about her relationship with Tiger Pataudi. She also shared that they both had faced a lot of scrutiny for their different backgrounds as Tiger was a Muslim royal and she hailed from the prestigious Bengali family. Sharmila converted to Islam and had her name changed to Begum Ayesha Sultana, though she never used that name.

Tiger and Tagore had three children together- son Saif Ali Khan and daughters Soha and Saba Ali Khan. Her daughter-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan had said in a recent interview that Tagore is yet to meet her young grandson, whom Khan gave birth to last month. Calling Tagore a support system for not just her children, but grandchildren as well, Khan added, "I’m lucky enough to know deeper than that which is that, she’s warm, loving, she’s caring.” Read more on that here.
