Rupali Ganguly Reveals Husband Took Break From Work To Support Her Acting Comeback

Ganguly, who made a comeback on the television screen recently spoke about how her husband took a break so that she could pursue her career.

Rupali Ganguly, the lead of hit television show Anupamaa recently shared how she was able to make her acting comeback after her pregnancy because of her husband. The actor said that her husband took a break from work to support her acting comeback after a seven-year hiatus.

Rupali Ganguly is currently playing the lead role in Anupamaa. Her character is that of a single mother who raises three children. The family drama has been has received a very positive feedback from viewers and remains at the top of the TRP charts even now.

The show marks Ganguly's comeback to small screen after a seven-year-long break, and she said that it wouldn't have been possible without the support of her husband Ashwin Verma who took a break from his work so that she could pursue acting again.

The actor said, “After I quit ‘Parvarrish’ due to my pregnancy, I was busy with my home and my child (Rudransh). I enjoyed every moment of it.

On telling her husband about the offer she got, he said, "You should take it up and make us proud." Taking a break from his work so that his wife could get back to acting, 'he gave her the wings to fly.'

The struggles

Besides, Ganguly talked about the struggles that prevail when a female actor in her 40s decides for a comeback in the industry which is constantly searching for young talents.

She said, "To be 40-plus and not have a 26-inch waist when you’re playing the lead can be challenging at times. I always wondered if it would work. I still can’t believe it’s happening to me and hope the bubble doesn’t burst."

Further talking about the show, she added that Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai’s Monisha noticed her but Anupama gave her the platform that she always longed for.

She has also appeared in the Star Plus serial Sanjivani and was a contestant in the reality show, Bigg Boss, in 2006.
