Raj Anadkat statement on dating rumours: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah star Raj Anadkat released a statement on social media, slamming the media for “cooking up” stories about his love life. It was being reported last week that Anadkat is allegedly in a relationship with fellow actor Munmun Dutta. On Sunday, Dutta too had criticised the media for posting “made up” articles without consent.
On September 13, Anadkat took to Instagram to share a statement in which he asked the media to think of the repercussions that can happen in his life because of false stories and that too about his life without any consent. “All the creative people out there please channelise your creativity somewhere else it will be helpful to you,” he added.
Anadkat and Dutta play the roles of Jethalal’s son Tapu and Babuta Iyer, respectively, on the hit comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. There is a recurring track on the show of Jethalal’s infatuation with Babitaji, which formed the base of numerous memes that began circulating after the alleged rumour of Anadakat and Dutta dating each other broke. Social media users also scrutinised the age gap of nine years between Anadkat and Dutta. Read more here.
On Sunday, Munmun Dutta had shared two posts on Instagram, addressed to the public and media, regarding the dating rumours. Both of the posts are inaccessible now. Addressing the public, Dutta had written that the filth that they had showered in the comments section proved how regressive a society we are. “Women are constantly age shamed, slut shamed, mom shamed at the cost of your humour,” she wrote, adding that she is ashamed of calling herself a daughter of India.
In her statement addressed to the media, Dutta asked who gave them the right to post ‘imaginary’ ‘made up’ articles in people’s name about their private life without their consent? “R u liable to the damage that you cause to their lives with your reckless behaviour?” she went on to ask.
