Priyanka Chopra on Kamala Harris: Actor Priyanka Chopra is one of the many people who celebrated the first female Vice-President of United States of America Kamala Harris. Recently, Chopra appeared on a late-night television chat show hosted by Stephen Colbert and she took the opportunity to praise Harris. 

When Stephen Colbert asked Priyanka Chopra about what she felt as a South Asian woman herself when Kamala Harris became the Vice-President of America, Chopra said that is was an emotional moment for her friends and family but she added that coming from a country like India has seen many women in becoming the President and Prime Minister, it was high time for America to finally have that. 

"You know, welcome to the club, America. That’s what I’ll say. High time, I hope this isn’t the first,” she said. Kamala Harris is the first woman ever to become the Vice-President of America, she is also the first South Asian and first Black person to do so. 

.“I hope there are many, many because this is what governance should look like. Leadership looks amazing especially when it is diverse and reflective of what the world really looks like,” Chopra added.

The video clip of the interview has since gone viral on the internet as her fans couldn't happier about Priyanka Chopra's answer who made India's position on female representation in governance clear and possibly higher than America. Social media users applauded Priyanka Chopra for it. 

When Vogue magazine decided to have Kamala Harris on its cover, Chopra took to Instagram to express her delight over it. She said that it is promising to see a Black woman, an Indian woman and woman whose parents were born outside of America is gracing the cover of Vogue magazine as the Vice-President-elect. She said, "And could there be anything more special, as the VP Elect put it than the fact that little girls will only know a world where a woman is the Vice President of the US."
