Park Hyung Sik and Han Hyo Joo Confirmed For New Thriller Drama 'Happiness'

Park Hyung Sik and Han Hyo Joo On Happiness: The two have been confirmed to star as the lead actors in the upcoming tvN (Total Variety Network)  apocalyptic thriller drama. Happiness will be Han Hyo Joo’s first drama as a lead actor after W in 2016.

Happiness is reportedly an apocalyptic drama in which the story revolves around new infectious diseases that are starting to spread in a city. The drama is expected to depict the psychological battle, fear and physical struggle that humans go through to survive the apocalypse against the unknown. The storyline can be safely assumed, to be highly influenced by the ongoing pandemic.

Actor Han Hyo Joo will play the character of Yoon Sae Bom who is an agent in the Seoul Police Special Operations Unit who is reported to be practical, decisive and sharp. The apocalypse affects her when she moves into a newly constructed apartment.

Happiness is also actor Park Hyung Sik’s first project after getting discharged from the military. The actor will play the character of Jang Yi Hyun who is an intelligent detective in the violent crimes section who is keen to protect his loved ones from the unknown enemy. Fans have already geared up their expectations for the return of the two lead actors on screen.

Apart from Park Hyung Sik and Han Hyo Joo, actor Jo Woo Jin has also been confirmed to be on the cast of the upcoming drama. He will be playing the role of Han Tae Suk, a commander of the Armed Forces Medical Command. Woo Jin’s character will hold a key to the unknown infectious disease. The drama Happiness will begin filming this month.

The production team said that Happiness will depict human greed and discrimination. “In this current time when we feel the importance of everyday life, we will deliver a new type of fun through the most realistic horror that’s going on,” they said.

Happiness is to be produced by PD Ahn Gil Ho and written by Han Sang Woon. PD Ahn Gil Ho has produced many hit dramas like Forest of Secrets, Memories of Alhambra, and Record of Youth starring prominent South Korean actors like Hyun Bin, Park Shin Hye, and Park Bo Gum.
