The film, Namaste Wahala, whose Hindi and Nigerian title translates to Hello trouble in English, narrates the story of a Nigerian woman who falls in love with an Indian banker who lives in Lagos, Nigeria. The duo has to face a lot of challenges in their relationship to be together, including their families.
The title Namaste Wahala loosely translates to 'Hello trouble.'
This film is hailed as the first major collaboration between Bollywood and Nollywood and stars Ruslaan Mumtaz and Ini Dima-Okojie in the lead roles.
This cross-cultural love story Namaste Wahala is all set to debut on Netflix on February 14.
The film is directed by Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, a long-time restaurant owner who gave up on her business to pursue her dream of making movies. “I wanted to do something that is more relatable, so it’s a Nollywood movie, but I brought in Indian actors to make it a little bit more fun,” Daryani Ahuja said.
The audience is most likely to experience the old school nostalgia as Namaste Wahala is all about the 90s style of Bollywood singing and dancing around trees.
