The global movie streaming platform, production company, and distributor Mubi collaborated with Amazon Prime Video in India during 2021 which would allow Indian users to watch handpicked movies from around the world on the OTT giant Amazon. With over 800 movies from Mubi available to Prime users, the subscribers can access these movies through add-on subscriptions to their existing accounts.

Ema-

The movie by Pablo Larrain premiered at Venice Film Festival in 2019. A young dancer named Ema gets divorce from her husband Gaston who is also the director of the company for which she performs. However, she feels bad about their adopted child Polo who made up for the sterility of her husband. They send him back to the orphanage from where he was brought.

The movie takes us through tragedy caused due to the pyromania of a child. The cast includes Mariana Di Girolamo as Ema and Gael García Bernal as Gastón. The movie was released through streaming services in the U.K, Ireland, and India in 2020.

The movie is a biographical tribute to American actress Judy Garland. The movie mostly focuses on the actor's career during the last year of her life after she relocated her stage career to Britain. The movie is beefed with a flashback of the actor known for her role in The Wizard of Oz from her teenage days. Her acting career along with her singing talent which made her one of the most famous actors from America is portrayed well in the movie. 

The role of Judy Garland is performed by Renée Zellweger won her Best Actress at Academy Award along with the Golden Globe Award, SAG Award, BAFTA Award, and Critics' Choice Movie Award. 

Charulata-

The 1964 movie by Satyajit Ray is a romance drama about a married woman named Charulata. Her husband runs newspaper business and she spends her day in house gossiping about passersby, reading books, relaxing. However, the story takes turn when her husband calls upon his cousin Amal to their home and intimacy grows between Charulata and Amal.

Ray's take on a woman's loneliness and capturing the reality of emotions through his intriguing scenes, made the movie an all-time favourite. Even though Charu's husband realises her feelings towards the end of movie and tries to leave her behind, he returns back and tries to reconcile but the screen freezes. It is said that Ray made best use of freeze frame in cinema. The movie casts Madhabi Mukherjee, Soumitra Chatterjee, Shailen Mukherjee as lead actors.

The Hindi language movie by Meera Nair witnesses her stint as director, co-producer and co-writer where she depicts the life of children living in slums of Mumbai, which was her main inspiration behind making of the movie. The child actors in the movie were the actual street children from Mumbai who received workshop before being cast into the movie.

The journey of Krishna from worker at circus to falling in love with a girl at brothel and doing odd jobs to earn a living is intriguing. The movie won several awards like Cannes Film Festival Audience Award, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, National Film Awards among many others. The movie casts Shafiq Syed, Raghuvir Yadav, Nana Patekar, Irrfan Khan, Sanjana Kapoor among the main leads.

The Beach Bum-

The Beach Bum is story about a rogue person and poet named Moondog who always lives his life on own terms. The movie takes us through hilarious misadventures in his life and his journey in completing his new novel to gain the respect of his daughter and his share of his wife's estate.

He names his book 'The Beach Bum' which is loved by all and ultimately wins him a Pulitzer Prize. The movie directed and written by Harmony Korine did not do well at box office but received mixed reviews from the audience. Farewell Amor-

The American drama movie from 2020 is about the story of Angolan immigrants to United States of America. The story by Ekwa Msangi is told from three different perspectives. Walter, Esther and Sylvia had left Angola 17 years back to move to USA, and the family reunites at JFK airport. Sylvia is forced to live with her father in the same house and Esther has retreated to Christian faith.

All of them struggle and at the same time hide it from each other until a day comes when they actually confront each other about the problems. The movie was also screened at the 51st International Film Festival of India in 2021. The main cast includes Ntare Mwine, Zainab Jah, Jayme Lawson.

Titane-

The horror movie made mark after it premiered in the Cannes Film Festival of 2021 and received good response from the critics as well for the thrilling provocative storyline. The story is about a girl Alexia who suffers a car accident in childhood and had to get a titanium plate fitted in her head after her skull got damaged.

As she grows, she becomes a famous showgirl for motor company and is later revealed as the serial killer who has killed many men and women, and her parents are unaware about everything. Due to her child trauma she somehow develops the weird feeling of having sex with vehicles. The cast includes Agathe Rousselle as Alexia/Adrien, Vincent Lindon, Garance Marillier, Laïs Salameh.

Benedetta

The story is inspired by a 17th century nun named Benedetta Carlini who joins an Italian convent after she feels that the God is calling her. She is revered among the people of convent due to her mystical nature. She, however, has an affair with fellow nun in the convent due to which she is judged for being a lesbian and is later arrested.

The movie by Paul Verhoeven is an intellectual gift for people with liberal ideas. It is adapted from the book Immodest Acts: The Life of a Lesbian Nun in Renaissance Italy by Judith C Brown who has pioneered the study of sexuality and even recorded the history of early homosexuality through her works.

The movie stars Virginie Efira in the titular role along with Charlotte Rampling, Daphne Patakia, Lambert Wilson among the other cast members.

Annette-

Leos Carax the French film director marks his English debut with the film. It is a psychological musical drama fiction about standup comedian Henry McHenry who has a daughter named Annette along with his wife who is world famed soprano named Ann Desfranoux. Ann's career flourishes and Henry stays back at home taking care of little Annette and his shows happen to take a setback after he melts down on the stage.

The couple then undertake a journey where Ann dies and she continues to haunt husband though daughter by inducing voice in her. The story takes twist and turns as Annette becomes popular and reveals her father's reality to the world. The movie casts Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard, Simon Helberg, Devyn McDowell among others.

Shiva Baby

Shiva is a day-lobe Jewish gathering during the time of mourning. A college student named Danielle faces a long awkward series of encounters during Shiva. The comedy drama series directed by Emma Seligman stars Rachel Sennott, Molly Gordon, Polly Draper in the lead supported by Fred Melamed ,Dianna Agron , Jackie Hoffman among others.

The movie handles the subject of bisexuality and claustrophobia with humor when Danielle's ex-girlfriend arrives during the gathering and her sugar daddy who arrives along with wife and a baby. The movie was awarded with Audience Award for Feature Fiction at Adelaide Film Festival in 2020.
