Venkat Prabhu who is best known for his multi-starrers like Chennai 600028, Saroja and Goa which is also an adult romantic comedy has penned this film with his assistant Manivannan Balasubramaniam. The screenplay was also written by the duo, while the music has been composed by Premgi Amaren, Prabhu’s brother.

The adult comedy was directed by Prabhu during a short break caused by the delay in filming Maanadu due to the pandemic. The film received its innuendo tagline of ‘A Venkat Prabhu Quickie’ from the incident. The storyline of the film is in tangent with the 1971 Kamal Haasan film of the same name. The film’s plot focused on Hassan’s extra-marital affairs.

The makers of the film recently released ">the trailer to the film which begins with a seemingly hilarious but inherently misogynistic quote, ‘All men are as faithful as Lord Rama until proven guilty of the crime’. Needless to say, the film is based on Ashok Selvan’s character who is a womaniser and continues to pursue other women despite being married.

The trailer often rolls back and forth between 2010 and 2020 citing ‘Even when history repeats, boys will be boys', a response which is used to excuse men of their antics since times immemorable. It shows glimpses of both years, drawing parallels of the life event of Selvan’s character.

Backed by T Muruganantham’s Rockfort Entertainment and Venkat Prabhu's Black Ticket Company, the film has Thamizh Azhagan as the director of Photography and Venkat Rajen as editor.

On the work front, Ashok Selvan has three other films—Hostel, Nitham Oru Vaanam and a bilingual film Aakasham—in his pipeline. And director Prabhu’s long-delayed comedy-thriller Party will also hit the screens soon.
