Reportedly, on August 21, a major drug racket was busted in Karnataka, for which an investigation is underway. Oberoi's brother-in-law is suspected of involvement in this drug nexus by the officials. "Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we got some information that Alva is there... So a court warrant was obtained and the Central Crime Branch team has gone to his house in Mumbai," a police officer was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. It was also alleged that many of the accused in the Sandalwood drugs case were present at some parties held at a farmhouse near Hebbal Lake, revealed to be owned by Aditya, the son of a former minister, late Jeevaraj Alva.

Vivek Oberoi is his relative and we got some information that Alva is there. So we wanted to check. So a court warrant was obtained and Crime Branch team has gone to his house in Mumbai.”
