Kangana Ranaut Claims She Has Not Paid Half Of Last Year's Tax Because She Has 'No Work'

Kangana Ranaut recently arrived in Mumbai and was spotted at her demolished office in the city on Tuesday.

Kangana Ranaut tax trouble: Actor Kangana Ranaut shared on her Instagram story that due to 'no work' she has not been able to pay half of last year's tax. "Even though I come under highest tax slab pay almost 45 percent of my income as tax, even though I am the highest tax paying actress but because of no work haven't paid half of my last year's tax yet," she wrote.

In her Instagram story, Ranaut further added that this was the first time in her life that she was late in paying tax but the government was charging her interest on that pending tax money. "Still I welcome this move, time could be tough for us individually but together we are tougher than the time."

On June 9, Ranaut visited her Mumbai office that was demolished partially by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020 due to alleged structural violations. When a paparazzi asked her to pose for a picture, she said, "Aap mujhe bhi toh mera kaam karne dijiye (Let me do my work also)".

In a recent Instagram post, the Manikarnika actor had shared snaps from her visit to the Golden Temple. She said that she was "speechless and stunned" with the temple's beauty and divinity. On work front, Kangana Ranaut's much awaited film Thalaivi, a biopic on the former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa was slated to see a theatre release on April 23 but its release got postponed due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in India. She will also be seen in movies Dhaakad, Tejas and Manikarna Returns: The Legend of Didda. The actor has also reportedly signed up to play the role of of the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political drama.
