Hollywood actor Julie Andrews will now be receiving the 48th Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Film Institute.
The awarding ceremony for the same will be a rescheduled Gala event which will be held at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, in November this year. "Julie Andrews has lifted the spirits of the world for generations. Now, more than ever, AFI looks forward to gathering the globe to celebrate the many gifts and joy she has given us -- proving her, of course, 'practically perfect in every way," said Bob Gazzale, the president of the AFI.
The gala event was supposed to be conducted on April 25, 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will now be conducted on November 11.

Julie Andrews has made many contributions to Hollywood and has received numerous awards throughout her career. She is best known for playing Mary Poppins for which she had won an Oscar in 1964. She was then nominated for the Oscar for her performance in The Sound of Music, and for playing dual roles in the film Victor Victoria.
Julie Andrews has played a significant role in The Princess Diaries and The Man Who Loved Women, as well as TV shows such as Bridgerton. She has also lent her voice for films such as Despicable Me 3, Aquaman and Shrek 2.
The AFI's Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to the people with accomplishments that have been recognised by critics, scholars, professional peers, and also the general public too. Their work is such that it has managed to stand the test of time. These awards are presented to such talented people annually.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was established way back in 1973. The last AFI award, i.e, the 47th Lifetime Achievement Award went to actor Denzel Washington in June 2019.
