Batman Catwoman Sex Scene Binned By DC:

Justin Halpern, who created Harley Quinn with Patrick Schumacker and is also the executive producer, told Variety that the show is focussed on the villain since it is " incredibly gratifying". He said that focussing a series on the villain gives "much more leeway".

This is why the show decided to show a scene in the third season of the series where the animated character of Batman bends down to perform cunnilingus on Catwoman. However, the creators were not able to go through the scene as DC put a stop to it.

Halpern told Variety, "And DC was like, 'You can't do that. You absolutely cannot do that.'" He added that DC told them "Heroes don't do that" to which Halpern and his team replied, "Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?'"

According to Halpern, DC showed concerned because the scene would hurt the brand of the superheroes.

He added, "They(DC) were like, 'No, it's that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It's hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.'"

Other than the said scene, DC comics showed full support to the creators of Harley Quinn, Halpern told the publication. He said that they were "remarkably supportive" of their show and allowed them to push the envelope many times.

The out-of-the-box nature of the series has often shown a side of the DC villain that was never thought of before. Harley Quinn who is the obsessed lover of Joker and his former girlfriend was seen having a sexual relationship with her best friend Poison Ivy. Ivy's character has been voiced by Lake Bell.
