Grammys night turned out to be a small celebratory event for Swifties as the singer during her gratifying winning speech for her 13th Grammy award announced her brand new album 'The Tortured Poets Department.'

Taylor Swift Announces Her 'Brand New Album' Live On Stage

The iconic mega-popstar Taylor Swift brought a surprise with her on Sunday night at the Grammys Awards as she revealed a "secret" she has been keeping for "two years." 

While collecting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album 'Midnights', she dropped the bomb by announcing her 11th album 'The Tortured Poets Department' taking fans by surprise who had been anticipating the record for her 6th and last album, 'Reputation' with the Big Machine Records

She said, "So, I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I've been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19." The singer added "It’s called The Tortured Poets Department. I'm gonna go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you. I love you. Thank you."

The singer then went backstage and posted the details of her new album as promised on her Instagram releasing the poster with the caption that read, "All's fair in love and poetry," signing herself the "Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department."

Taylor Swift Creates History At Grammys Awards 2024

As the music icon received her 13th Grammy (her lucky number) on Sunday night which was already a piece of enticing news hailed by Swifties, Swift's evening began with a record-breaking win as she became the first artist to clinch the 'Best Album Award' four times.

Swift has been previously tied with legendary singers like Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra in the category of Best Album Awards with three-time wins. 

Her album 'Midnights' caused massive hits on the charts with 'Anti Hero' topping the Billboard Hot 100 while 'Lavender Haze' and 'Karma' marked number 2 on the charts. While other songs from the album such as 'Snow on the Beach', 'You're on Your Own, Kid', 'Midnight Rain', and 'Vigilante Shit' were among the many other songs from the album hailed by listeners globally.

Taylor Swift's Highlights From The Grammys Night

Swift made an unintentional 'grand' entrance to the awards night, as Trevor Noah joked about "improving the economy" highlighting her vast influence as he welcomed the star with the joke "As Taylor Swift moves through the room, the local economy around those tables improves." Trevor also cracked some other jokes on Swift's inessential critics receiving raucous waves of laughter and applause for the jokes.

However, Swift's historic win was not met as graciously as it could have been as rapper Jay-Z threw some "shades" on the stage once again comparing Swift's win to Beyoncé calling it a "subjective and opinion-based matter" calling out the Recording Academy for not honouring Beyoncé in the nomination of the same category Swift clinched the award despite Beyoncé winning the most number of awards. 

Singer SZA who won the award for Best R&B song for her song 'Snooze' gave the most relatable speech on the stage while greeting Swift with "Hi Taylor" from the stage in between her acceptance speech.

Swift was also seen fully jamming on the performance of young breakout artist Olivia Rodrigo on the song 'Vampire' from her album 'Guts' nominated in the same category as Swift while Swift was also spotted fully enjoying Miley Cyrus celebrating her first Grammy win amidst her performance.
