Ashutosh Gowariker’s critically-acclaimed Lagaan completed 20 years on Tuesday. Actor Gracy Singh shared her fond memories from the movie.

Gracy Singh shared a post on her social media with pictures of the behind-the-camera shoot of Lagaan. She wrote that Lagaan happened when Gracy's journey in the films started. She said, "I stood in front of a movie camera & cherished every bit of it." Singh expressed her gratitude towards the director of the movie Lagaan, Ashutosh Gowariker, lead actor Aamir Khan and the team of the movie.

Gracy Singh gave her thanks to the audience and the media for showering love and appreciation on the movie. Singh was applauded for her dance performances to the tracks Ghanan Ghanan and Radha Kaise Na Jale from the film.

The movie Lagaan is set in the pre-independence era of India in the context of a village under British rule. The village is suffering from drought-like conditions and the tyrannies of the British at the same time. When the villagers needed to pay the tax, a deal struck between Bhuvan played by Aamir Khan and a British officer to play a game of cricket. Cricket was never introduced in the villagers yet after many ups and downs, they manage to win and the story has a happy ending.

Gracy Singh shared her favourite scene from Lagaan and said, "I love the whole film but there is one scene - when the whole village stands against Bhuvan's (Aamir) decision - that I love the most. Nobody wants to support Bhuvan but it is Gauri who trusts him and gives him support."

She added that the villagers slowly started agreeing with Bhuvan's decision and this sequence is established through a song. Gracy shares that she started learning dancing for this film and then later took a degree in Bharatanatyam. Lagaan was the source of motivation in her life, said Singh.
