Cold Case Teaser: Prithviraj Starrer Wants To Unearth Secrets Of The Departed

Cold Case teaser: The teaser for Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Cold Case was released on June 19. The Malayalam language film will have an OTT release on June 30, since the theatres largely remain shut nationwide due to the pandemic.

Apart from Prithviraj, Cold Case also features actors Adithi Balan, Suchitra Pillai, Lakshmi Priya, Alencier Lopez, Anil Nedumangad and Athmiya. The horror film has been directed by cinematographer Tanu Balak. Cold Case will see Prithviraj essay the role of an investigating officer.

The film revolves around untold secrets left behind by sprits when they leave the earth. Prithviraj is a police officer who believes in standing by logic, even when he is pitched against paranormal forces while solving a case.

Balan too shared the teaser from her Twitter handle, writing, "A case of gritty mysteries under which lies a deadly conspiracy."

Speaking about his directorial debut, Balak had said in an earlier interview, "It is an investigative thriller set in Thiruvananthapuram. It draws inspiration from real life incidents but overall it is a fictional story. It has a reasonable budget. Though it doesn't have action sequences, it is still a big project."

Cold Case will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from June 30. The decision to go for an OTT release, film's producer Anto Joseph said that since there is no clarity on when the theatres will reopen and given the existing economic hurdles, I’m trying for an OTT release for his films Cold Case and Fahadh Faasil starrer Maalik.
