Mandira Bedi's husband and filmmaker Raj Kaushal passed away on Wednesday, June 30 morning after suffering a heart attack. Actor Rohit Roy, who is Kaushal's family friend confirmed the news. Roy said that 50-year-old Kaushal passed away today morning at around 4:30 am at his home due to a heart attack. "By the time the family could get any medical help, Raj had gone," he said.
Several celebrities from the film industry paid tribute to Kaushal taking to their social media account. Filmmaker Onir wrote on his social media sharing the news of Kaushal's death. He remembered Kaushal by saying that he was one of the producers of his first film "My Brother Nikhil" and was one of those who believed in his vision and supported him. "Prayers for his soul," he wrote.
Roy also posted an emotional note bidding goodbye to the filmmaker writing that he is gone just like that without even saying goodbye. He further wrote that he is too numb with grief and shock to react.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor Divya Dutta tweeted expressing her disbelief writing that he's gone too soon, while actor Tisca Chopra called the unfortunate event "shocking".
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit wrote on his Twitter account that he is shocked to hear about the sad demise of his colleague. "Our heartfelt condolences to his wife @mandybedi for this huge tragedy. We stand by you & your entire family in this hour of crisis," he wrote.
TV host and author Malini Agarwal aid tribute to the late filmmaker writing, "So saddened to hear of #rajkaushal's passing. Gone too soon and my heart goes out to his family. Sending you love and light @mandybedi, I'm so sorry for your loss."
Actor Anupam Kher took to social media to pay his tribute to Kaushal writing, Deeply saddened & shocked to know about the sudden demise of #RajKaushal! A friend, a filmmaker & a very positive man. Have some great memories of working with him & spending time with him a few years back. Sorry, dearest @mandybedi & family for your irreparable loss. Folded hands#OmShanti. (sic)"
