Catherine Zeta-Jones Reveals Her Husband Tried To Steer Their Kids Away From Acting

Hollywood actor Catherine Zeta-Jones revealed that her husband Michael Douglas had tried to steer their kids away from acting.

This is because he felt that their children might find it harder to succeed in acting. He felt that their kids might find it difficult to overcome their association with their parents in the film industry.

Catherine Zeta-Jones says that acting is a "passion" for her children

Catherine Zeta-Jones, 51, said that their children Dylan and Carys are eager to follow in their parents' footsteps. “Michael has said what it is like to be ‘the daughter of’ in the same industry, which I guess is similar if you are in business,” Catherine Zeta-Jones told Drew Barrymore while appearing via Zoom on her talk show.

She then added that one has to make an effort to prove themselves more if they are successful in business. However, Zeta-Jones said that her children are still adamant about pursuing acting. She compared her childrens' situation to that of Drew Barrymore's, her parents are also actors.

Catherine Zeta-Jones then said that acting is a "passion" for her children and that their love for it is very strong. Zeta-Jones can currently be seen in the US drama Prodigal Son. Her husband Michael Douglas will be back as Hank Pym in the Ant-Man and the Wasp sequel Quantumania which will be releasing in 2023.

Earlier, Michael Douglas had released an emotional tribute after the death of his stepmother Anne Douglas. She was 102 years old when she passed away. Douglas said that his stepmother was very supportive of his father Kirk Douglas. He said that his father would never have had the career he did if it weren't for his stepmother. He added that his wife Catherine and their children adored her.
