BLACKPINK's DDU-DU-DDU-DU reaches 1.5 billion views on Youtube, becoming the first K-pop group music video to reach the milestone.
After BLACKPINK's Kill This Love set the record for surpassing 1.2 billion views on YouTube earlier this month, the Korean-pop girl quartet has achieved another feat today as the official music video of their song DDU-DU DDU-DU's reached 1.5 billion views on YouTube.
BLACKPINK's DDU-DU DDU-DU crossed 1.5B views on Youtube
BLACKPINK is the first K-Pop group to have two music videos with over 1.2 billion views. In fact, BLACKPINK and PSY, of Gangnam Style fame, are the only Korean artists to have music videos with over 1.5 billion views on YouTube.
DDU-DU DDU-DU was first released on June 15, 2018, at 6 pm KST. It reportedly took approximately two years and eight months for the music video to achieve the 1.5 billion view mark on the video platform.
Kill This Love
The superstar quartet girl group's Kill This Love also made a record for surpassing 1.2 billion views on February 9, 2021. The music video was released on April 5, 2019, at 12 am KST. Hence, it took one year, 10 months, and 4 days for the video to reach the milestone on Youtube.
BLACKPINK has been breaking new records time and again. In October last year, it became the first-ever Korean girl group to sell over one million copies of an album.
