Katrina Kaif turns 39 today. In a career spanning almost 20 years, Kaif is known to have given many hit films that have cemented her position as a bankable star in Bollywood. Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong and spent a lot of her early life moving around before her family finally settled in London. She made her Bollywood debut at the age of 20 with Kaizad Gustad's forgettable film Boom in 2003, after which she also starred in the Telugu film Malliswari.

Her debut film came and went and not much attention was paid to this budding star. But then came the 2005 hit Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya with Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen, and suddenly a new star was born. In the initial years of her career, Kaif was criticised for not experimenting with her roles and looks much.
