All set to showcase Anupama's life 17 years ago, this prequel will reportedly provide insights on moments of impact of her life, and the course of how Anupama's life came to be what it is today.

Rupali Ganguly has become the talk of every household with her show Anupamaa. Her character is widely loved by the audience. The actor recently made headlines, after the prequel Anupama: Namaste America was announced. The show will shed light on Anupama's life 17-years-ago when she reportedly had the opportunity to do what she loves. The show will provide insight into the choices that lead Anupama to where she stands today.

Anupamaa portrayed by actor Rupali Ganguly follows the life of a middle-aged woman, living life on her terms. It sheds light on the desires and aspirations of a woman beyond her family. The show stars Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, Gaurav Khanna, and Madalsa Sharma in lead roles. The protagonist Anupamaa, a 45-year-old, mother of three, who was a content homemaker for 25 years, decides to take the reins of her life and follow her dreams after she learns about her husband's infidelity.

Anupama: Namaste America will consist of 11 episodes. As the show provides the backstory of Anupama, actor Rupali will look much younger. The show is all set to showcase the initial years of her marriage and where the problems arose. Rupali stated, “Anupamaa is a character that has seen me grow as an actor and a woman. It brings me immense joy to see Hotstar Specials presents Anupama – Namaste America, becoming the first show to run parallelly alongside a running television show.”

Revealing more about the prequel, the actor stated “The prequel will showcase a side that’s never been seen before. As the popular show already has a successful following, I am confident the prequel will let the audience develop a deeper connection to the character.”

Disney+Hotstar took to their Instagram handle to share the promo of the prequel stating “Dekhiye Anupama ki zindagi ka vo panna jo aaj tak kisi ne nahi dekha! (Watch the unknown story of Anupama’s life which nobody has ever seen) Hotstar Specials Anupama: Namaste America streaming from April 25." Anupama: Namaste America will stream in Disney+Hotstar from April 25, 2022.
