After organising a fan meet-up earlier this month, Alia Bhatt met with the paparazzi and press in Mumbai, where she also celebrated her birthday in advance. Ranbir Kapoor joined her for the occasion, and the couple engaged in a Q&A session with the media. During the interaction on March 13, they reiterated their request for photographers and media outlets to respect their daughter Raha’s privacy, urging them not to publish unauthorised pictures of her. This discussion comes shortly after Alia deleted all pictures of Raha from her social media, further reinforcing the couple’s stance on safeguarding their daughter’s privacy.

Addressing the matter, Alia made it clear that while they were not considering legal action at the moment, they might be forced to take that route if their request was ignored. She stated, “We don’t want to push any sort of action, but we’ll be left with no choice if people don’t listen. Wait for Raha to cross or cover her face while clicking pictures.”

She also reportedly told NDTV, “My worst nightmare is someone breaking in and taking Raha away.”

Ranbir Kapoor echoed her concerns, emphasising how the rise of smartphone cameras and social media had made it difficult to control image circulation. He explained, “It might sound like a privileged problem. But as parents, we are trying to do as much as we can to protect our child. Anybody with a camera phone can post it, it’s not in our control. But we are just asking for help.” He also recalled an instance when Alia was clicked inside their home, calling it a breach of privacy. He added, “We understand there’s curiosity, but there’s a line you cannot cross.”

At one point, Ranbir suggested that perhaps Raha could be photographed on special occasions like Christmas, but Alia immediately intervened, shutting down the idea. The couple also reminded the press about the Child Privacy Law and Data Protection Law, which prohibit the use of minors’ images without parental consent.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who last shared the screen in Brahmastra, are set to reunite for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, which also features Vicky Kaushal. Take a look at what the couple shared about their upcoming film with Bhansali.
