Alia Bhatt has removed all pictures of her daughter Raha’s face from Instagram, leaving fans curious about the sudden move. The actor, who introduced Raha to the world alongside Ranbir Kapoor at the Kapoor family’s Christmas lunch in December 2024, had previously been selective about sharing glimpses of her personal life. Born in November 2022, Raha was two years old at the time of her first public appearance.
Alia Bhatt Removes Raha’s Pictures from Instagram, Here’s Why
The unexpected removal of her pictures has led to speculation that Alia may be taking a step toward safeguarding her daughter’s privacy, following the approach of celebrity parents like Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Sonam Kapoor- Anand Ahuja and Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan, who have been vocal about keeping their children away from constant media exposure.
In a 2023 interview with Vogue, Alia had expressed her and Ranbir’s firm stance on limiting Raha’s presence in the public eye, suggesting this move aligns with their long-standing views on their daughter’s privacy.
Bhatt said, "Ranbir and I are very clear on how long we don’t want Raha to be in the public eye for. We don’t even want to post her pictures on social media. I just don’t feel comfortable with any sort of conversation around my little baby right now. There have been so many good wishes, so many blessings. I’m constantly referred to as Raha’s mommy, which I love and find it very cute. But that’s all I’m okay with right now. I’m very protective of the people I love. And I genuinely don’t think that a baby needs to be a public personality. Again, that’s my opinion right now."
When Alia Bhatt Got Candid About Motherhood Struggles
In addition, the actor discussed her anxiety as a new mom and how she works very hard to maintain her mental health. According to her, worrying about whether she is raising her child properly while working makes her anxious. She also said that even if she has all the comforts to handle all of them properly, feeling the pressure and having nagging doubts are unavoidable.
She continued by describing her ongoing self-judgement, in which she feels extremely critical of herself. However, the actor acknowledged that she is making serious efforts to improve her mental health and that she regularly discusses these fears in therapy. Her understanding that this is a process that is constantly expanding and growing also aids in her ability to realize that she won't be able to figure it out on day one, day five, or even day ten.
