Alia Bhatt’s recent release Gangubai Kathiawadi is all set to premiere on the OTT Platform, Netflix after its two-month-long theatrical run. After joining the 200 cr club of the Box Office, the film is all set to come to our digital platform.

Alia Bhatt has made her mark in Bollywood with amazing performances in her decade-long career. Hailing from a film family and not a stranger to this field, she made her debut as a child artist in Sangarsh in 1999. Karan Johar then launched her in Student Of The Year in 2012. The viewers have to wait for a handful of days more for Gangubai Kathiawadi’s digital premiere; the film will release on Netflix on April 26, 2022.

Inspired by the lives of Indian rappers Divine and Naezy, the Zoya Akhtar film starring Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Verma and others follows the life of Murad, a rapper from the slums of Dharavi. Bhatt plays the character of his partner Safeena, a feisty woman. The film is streaming on Amazon Prime.

Raazi (2018)

Based on the book Calling Sehmat Alia Bhatt portrays the role of Indian Spy Sehmat married off to a Pakistan Army family. The film by Meghna Gulzar also stars Rajit Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Amruta Khanvilkar and others in important roles. This film also marks Alia and her mother Soni Razdan’s first on-screen appearance together. This movie is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)

Badrinath ki Dulhania is essentially a cliched film surrounding Bhatt’s ambitious character from a small town and her “admirer” Badrinath played by Varun Dhawan who belongs to a very sexist family. Their love story goes awry when Alia’s Vaidehi elopes from her own wedding to begin a career as an airline crew in Singapore. You can watch it on Amazon Prime Video.

Dear Zindagi (2016)

Kaira (Alia Bhatt) is an acutely insufferable person because of her traumas. After a chance encounter with Dr Jehangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), she decides to start therapy and betters her life.  This movie showcases the importance of Therapy and sheds light on mental illness and childhood trauma. This movie is streaming on Netflix.

Udta Punjab (2016)

Streaming on Netflix, this movie is based on the increasing drug abuse incidents amongst the youth of the Indian state of Punjab and the various conspiracies surrounding it, the film stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles. Alia’s character who names herself Mary Jane is a village girl who gets entangled after she mistakenly picks up a packet of drugs and attempts to sell it off for money.

The Shakun Batra rom-com explores the complexities of various relationships within a family and stars Alia Bhatt, Siddarth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, and Ratna Pathak Shah in prominent roles. This movie is available to watch on Netflix.

Shaandaar (2015)

Loosely based on a Disney fairytale-like storyline, this movie stars Alia Bhatt along with Shahid Kapoor, Pankaj Kapoor and others. The film revolves around Bhatt’s character, her almost-bankrupt family who has arranged her sister’s (Sanah Kapoor) with a disrespectful chap. The wedding planner played by Shahid Kapoor is there to save the day every time! The film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014)

Yet another cliched Dharma film, Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania is a typical rom-com starring Bhatt and Varun Dhawan as Kavya and Humpty. Both fall in love and wish to marry each other but Kavya’s father (Ashutosh Rana) is hell-bent on letting her marry him because his elder daughter had a love marriage that ended in divorce. The film follows the trajectory of their love story, You can stream it on Netflix.

2 States (2014)

Based on Chetan Bhagat’s best-selling novel of the same name, this movie follows the story of the union of Krish and Ananya, and the challenges they face, hailing from north and south parts of the country respectively. Available to watch on Disney+Hotstar. 

Highway (2014)

Known for Alia’s amazing performance, this movie marks Alia’s stand in the industry. Following the story of Veera Tripathi played by Alia Bhatt, who finds freedom after being kidnapped by a lorry driver named Mahabir ( Randeep Hooda). This movie is available to watch on Disney+Hotstar.
