The trailer depicts the tale of a real-life woman who was forced into prostitution at a young age in Mumbai's Kamathipura. In the film, she rises from Kamathipura's ranks to the head of a brothel and becomes a political figure in the area. Her campaign is for sex workers and their families' rights.

In the ">trailer, Ajay Devgn plays mafia don Karim Lala, who played a pivotal role in Gangubai's journey. Vijay Raaz, Jim Sarbh, and Seema Pahwa also star in the film.
