Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, along with Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan was seen leaving for the Cannes Film Festival earlier on Tuesday. She is the third celebrity to leave after Deepika Padukone and Hina Khan. The actor and her family were spotted by the paparazzi at the Mumbai Airport.
They shared a picture of Rai with her family. She wore black leggings with a matching overcoat and a pair of high heels. This is her 20th time at the Cannes and needless to see that fans are now looking back to the other times that Rai had gone to the international film festival.
This year is special because for three straight years because of the pandemic, there was no in-person edition, moreover, this time India is the country of honour at the 2022 Marche du Film (Cannes Film Market). There will be six films from India that are going to be screened during the festival.

The films include R Madhavan’s directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and the other five were picked by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It includes the Marathi film Godavari, Alpha Beta Gamma, Boomba Ride, Dhuin and Tree Full Of Parrots. The 75th Annual Cannes Film Festival is going to take place between May 17 and 28.

Rai made her first debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 with her film Devdas, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. The film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her look each year on the red carpet was different and most talked about. During her debut, she wore a traditional saree yellow coloured saree and was decked with gold jewellery.
