Actor Dilip Kumar's Health Update Shared Through His Twitter, Says He Is "Stable"

The actor has reportedly been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion after facing difficulties in breathing.

Actor Dilip Kumar who was admitted to a non-COVID hospital after experiencing breathlessness is now "stable" according to his Twitter account. Kumar's Twitter handle, handled by his wife Saira Banu and his team, has an update regarding his health condition.

The tweet which was made late at night on Sunday, June 6 read, "Don't believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heartfelt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days." (sic.)

The 98-year-old actor was admitted to Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital on Sunday morning for a routine checkup after having episodes of breathlessness and the news was shared by Kumar's Twitter handle.

Sharing the news of his health, the tweet read, "Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahab in your prayers and please stay safe."

The actor has reportedly been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion after facing difficulties in breathing. According to pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parkar, the actor has been put on oxygen support after facing a drop in oxygen saturation. The actor is not in the ICU and is stable.

Kumar's wife and actor Saira Banu talked to The Indian Express saying that she took the actor to hospital in Khar road after he was facing breathlessness at around 8:30 am. After getting a few tests done, she also said that they were waiting for reports as the doctors were treating him. She also asked people to pray for him and they will be able to take him home after he feels better.

Actor Dilip Kumar has been unwell for a few years now and often visits the hospital for check-ups. The actor had a checkup last month as well. He lost two of his brothers, Ahsan and Aslam to COVID-19 last year.
