The House of Republican representative is one of the strongest critics of America's former President Donald Trump and has engaged in many conflicts with him, including the peril of voting to impeach him earlier this year.

The politician and attorney is the daughter of former US Vice President Dick Cheney and Lynne Cheney, an author and former talk-show host. Cheney is married to attorney Phillip Perry and has five children.

Why Was Liz Cheney Ousted From The GOP?

Chiney was voted out from her position as the chamber's third-ranked GOP leader allegedly because of her repetitive rebukes against Trump for his false claims of election fraud and his role in promoting the January 6 Capitol attack.

How Did The Democrats React To The Ousting?

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said that Republicans had "reached a new and very dangerous low" after they removed Cheney. Rep. Ilhan Omar, a fierce critic of Cheney’s politics, claimed the removal as "shameful.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin also condemned Cheney’s ouster and commented on the cancellation of Liz Cheney by Trump and the GOP as a "flashing red danger sign for democracy".

Chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee Carolyn Maloney said at a hearing that no member of Congress should be punished for speaking the truth, he quoted, remaining speechless and neglecting the lie about the election "would only embolden the liar."
