Most health issues can be managed effectively with yoga and home remedies. I have found them to be as powerful as prescribed allopathic drugs, if not more. Below are some tried-and-tested ones.

Cold and Cough

Garlic works wonderfully to get rid of this condition. You need to have at least 15–20 cloves of it. Chop and fry the pieces in
two teaspoon of ghee or oil till they turn brown. (It is important to fry them well or it can irritate the stomach.) Spread the garlic on a slice of
toast or roti and eat it.

Diarrhoea

Nothing like a curd diet for this problem. Once, my father, who was a die-hard allopathy follower, got diarrhoea. He took a course of antibiotics and the diarrhoea stopped. But only for a while. It was back soon and he had to take the antibiotics again. The cycle happened again and again. After several such episodes that claimed 10 kilograms of his body weight, my father got really worried. As advised by
his physician, he came to Delhi for a thorough investigation at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. To our utter surprise and relief, all the reports came out normal. So, the next time he got diarrhoea, I suggested that he try curd and not take any medication. He had his apprehensions about opting for this method, but I managed to convince him. When his purging stopped in two–three days without antibiotics, he was so impressed that he told everybody he knew about it, including some relatives who were medical practitioners.
They tried it too and conveyed to us their utter surprise. They too started advising their friends and family to opt for this method. My father never had to take any medication for his stomach after that, and never stopped gloating about it.

The curd treatment is very simple. Just take curd, soft cooked rice and water till you get rid of the problem. Just take curd, soft

Inflammation

A mixture of castor oil and turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory. It can be used for  any kind of muscular pain for quick relief.
You may not need any painkillers for the affliction. Just heat up the mixture apply it on the on the affected part and leave it on for 45 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Allergy

I discovered a very simple and unconventional treatment for allergy by accident. One day, suddenly, late at night, my daughter developed a scary allergic reaction. I woke my help up, and sent him to get some anti-histamine. The chemist was a little far from my place, and I knew that he would not be back for at least half an hour. My daughter was panicking. So I decided to try laghoo shankha prakshyalan for her, and made her drink the water quickly. To our pleasant surprise, her condition started improving dramatically after the third glass, and by the time the help came back with the medicine, she was absolutely normal. She did not even need to go through the whole process. Just drinking that amount of water was enough to take care of her problem. Since then, whenever she feels any irritation on her face, she starts the treatment without waiting to see if it was actually the allergy, and the problem stops immediately. I have suggested this treatment to many
who have also got the same results.

Eye Infections

Turmeric is excellent for eye infections, and it works very fast. Just mix some pure turmeric powder with water, strain it with a muslin cloth and wipe your eyes with cotton soaked in the solution. Repeat it several times in the day. This treatment may not be effective for all kinds of eye problems, but there is no harm in trying it first.
