“I think we saw in the Indian team some very dynamic players, including Veda Krishnamurthy and Harmanpreet Kaur, I think these two stood out. We have a pretty solid team… but we have an opportunity to bring other overseas players in and we will be looking to spend that spot wisely. Hopefully we will get one of the best players around the world”, Alex Blackwell, the Sydney Thunder captain pointed to Cricwizz.

Adelaide Strikers are also keen on signing Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami for the WBBL, but their domestic teams seems to have not given them permission to join the international team.

Harmanpreet has been the middle-order batter and consistent in her game since 2010 T20 tournament. Recently she performed exceedingly well in the World Cup 2015 and the World T20 which happened this year itself. She played a crucial role in the win of India until they were in the tournament. Her achievement lies in the fact that she was the highest run scorer for India in the Women’s World T20.
