The registration process for Union Public Service Commission's National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (UPSC NDA, NA) II exam will now commence from June 9 onwards.
The last date for applying for the exam is June 29. Candidates have been directed to check the official website upsc.gov.in for all future updates regarding the exam.
Eligibility criteria for UPSC NDA and NA
Candidates who have passed class 12 can apply for the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy. They should have cleared their 12 standard from a 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University in order to be eligible for the exam.
The same applies for those candidates who want to apply for Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy. However, candidates should have passed their class 12th with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
According to UPSC's exam schedule, the UPSC NDA and NA exams will be held on September 5 this year.
Candidates will have to apply on upsconline.nic.in website. They will have to pay an application fee of 100 rupees by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the bank. Candidates can also pay the fees via debit card, credit card, master card, visa, etc. However, SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs will be exempted from paying the fees.
All the exam papers will have objective questions only. The question papers for Mathematics, and Part "B" of the General Ability Test will be bilingual.
There will also be negative marking for every wrong answer. Besides that, candidates are not permitted to use calculators, logarithmic of mathematical tables in the exam. They won't be allowed to bring these items into the examination hall.
Earlier, the UPSC had deferred the notification for the Medical Services exam. The notification was supposed to release on May 5, but has now been delayed until further notice.
