UPPSC Results Declared: 26% Of Candidates In Merit List Are Women

487 posts were vacant in 24 categories. A total of 476 candidates have been declared successful for the same. UPPSC Secretary Jagdish said, "the results have been made available on the official website of UPPSC at uppsc.up.nic.in."

A total of 4,589 candidates appeared for the PCS Mains 2020 which was conducted between January 21 and January 25. On March 20, 845 candidates were declared successful in the UPPSC Mains who were further selected for the interview round.

The UPPSC Secretary informed that 43 candidates out of 845 candidates remained absent during the interviews held between April 1 and April 8. "No candidate was found suitable for 11 posts of Child Development Project Officer" Secretary Jagdish added.

The Secretary also reported that candidates whose names "provisional" has been indicated in the list will have to present relevant documents before the commission within the set time. If the same is not done, their candidacy will be cancelled. Moreover, the results of these recruitment exams will subject to the final decision of the Allahabad High Court in the Special Appeal (D) 475/2019 filed by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Female Candidates Who Made It To The Merit List

26% of the total candidates were female, including all the female candidates across the nation. A total of 127 out of 476 candidates were female. The issued notice says, "Result of female candidates belonging to the other states, would be subject to the final judgment in the Special Appeal No 475 of 2019 filed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh before the Hon'ble High court. "
