The MPSC Prelims exam will now be conducted on March 14 due to the increase in COVID-19 cases. The notification for the same was given by the Mahrashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC).
The MPSC Prelims exam has been delayed for the fifth time
This exam which was scheduled for April last year, was postponed several times last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Maharashtra’s Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR) said that the COVID-19 situation is still being reviewed in various parts of the state.
Meanwhile, Vijay Wadettiwar the state minister for relief and rehabilitation even had a phone conversation with CM Uddhav Thackeray regarding the issue. Many aspiring candidates from Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur have expressed anger over the constant postponement, and have protested against it. "The state government was not taken into consideration while announcing the schedule of MPSC. Therefore, the government was not given any idea about it," Wadettiwar said. He also added that the CM is discussing the matter and will soon hold a press conference.
More than 260,000 candidates had travelled from the state's remote areas to give the exam. The MPSC Prelims exam promises entry into various government jobs on the basis of the candidate's merit.
Candidates will be required to arrive three hours in advance to appear for the exam on Sunday. Besides that, they will have to carry their on masks and sanitisers for the same.
Candidates will now have keep on checking the mpsc.gov.in website for further notifications.
