The Chhattisgarh State Open School (CGSOS) has now made an announcement postponing its class 10 and 12 exams.
The decision was made due to the unprecedented increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. According to the previous schedule, the exams were going to be conducted from 24th May to 15th June 2021. Now the exams have been deferred until further notice.
New dates for the CGSOS secondary and senior secondary exams will be announced after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state.
CGBSE announces evaluation criteria for assessing class 10 students
Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) had earlier made an announcement regarding the evaluation criteria for assessing class 10 students. This was after their board exams had been cancelled. An official notification from CGBSE says the following: “Regular students who were not able to appear for practical exams or projects due to COVID-19 will be awarded minimum marks required for passing."
"Class 10 results will be prepared based on internal assessment. Hence, in every theory subject, a maximum of 72 out of 75 marks will be awarded. Similarly, for theory exams of additional subjects, a maximum of 29 out of 30 can be awarded and 68 out of 70 will be valid for practical exams.”
Application dates for CGSOS exams were extended till March 4
About two months ago, the application process for the CGSOS class 10 and 12 exams had been extended. Candidates were allowed to apply for the exams till March 4, instead of February 13. Candidates had to pay a late application fee of Rs 500 if they hadn't registered on time.
Karnataka's SSLC exam delayed
S Suresh Kumar, the primary and secondary education minister of Karnataka announced that the SSLC or class 10 exams will be delayed. He said that the new dates for the exam will be announced, as soon as the COVID-19 situation gets better.
