The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office received a distressing call on July 6 from a distraught woman who tearfully confessed to accidentally running over her own child, as reported by NBC News.

Identified as Jafria Thornburg, the devastated mother explained that she had parked her vehicle in a gravel area adjacent to their residence and was in the process of manoeuvring the car out of a tight spot. Tragically, she believed her daughter was placed safely in her car seat at a reasonable distance.

As Thornburg repositioned the vehicle, the front tire caught the canopy of the car seat, causing it to topple backwards and resulting in critical injuries to her precious infant. Medical professionals, who were already on the scene administering life-saving measures, were unable to revive the child despite their efforts. The 13-month-old girl, identified as Cyra Rose Thoeming, was pronounced deceased at the Verde Valley Medical Center, leaving the community shattered.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Bureau has launched a thorough investigation into the heartbreaking incident to determine the circumstances and gather all necessary evidence. At this stage, it remains uncertain whether the grief-stricken mother will face any charges in connection with her daughter's tragic demise.

The loss of Cyra Rose Thoeming has deeply affected the family, friends, and acquaintances who had the privilege of knowing her. To help ease the financial burdens during this unfathomable time, the girl's uncle has established a GoFundMe page in her memory.

Fondly recalling her vibrant spirit, he described Cyra as "a light in the world who brought smiles to everyone she met."

Born on May 16, 2022, the young girl's infectious joy was evident in her love for the outdoors, nature, playing with her loved ones, animals, and splashing in the water. Her radiant presence had the extraordinary ability to brighten even the gloomiest of days.

The donations received through the GoFundMe campaign will directly support Cyra's grieving parents, providing assistance with the final expenses and alleviating some of the challenges they face during this profoundly difficult period.
