The Gautam Budd Nagar Police arrested three men in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Reportedly the main accused allegedly raped a woman and attempted to forcefully convert her religion under the pretext of marriage. His brother and father were accomplices in the crime, says the reports.

  1. A 30-year-old man identified as Intezar Khan of Noida allegedly raped a woman and attempted to forcefully convert her religion.
  2. The Gautam Budd Nagar Police have arrested him along with his brother, Suhail (24), and father, Abbas Ali (52), who were accomplices to the crime.
  3. Reportedly, the arrest took place in the locality of Noida.
  4. The woman filed a complaint at the Bisrakh police station for rape, assault, and a forced attempt at religious conversion.
  5. The complainant stated that she had met Intezar at a gym in the Shaberi area where she worked as the manager.
  6. According to the reports, he had lied about his religion and name and introduced himself as Sonu. She claimed he had promised to marry her and lured her to his apartment, where he spiked her juice and raped her.
  7. She discovered his real name and identity only after overhearing a phone conversation. Allegedly, they got into a fight over this, and she was beaten up by him.
  8. In her complaint, she claimed that Intezar, his brother, and his father attempted to forcefully convert her religion.
  9. Cases have been filed under IPC Sections 376 (rape), 323 (assault), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 242 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 120B (party to criminal conspiracy), as per the reports.
  10. The complainant's identity has been concealed to protect her privacy, according to the Supreme Court's directives on sexual assault cases.
