Melinda Gates on Mother's day: Melinda, who shares three children – two daughters and a son – with estranged husband and CEO and co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, on Sunday reflected on how she loves being their mother. To mark Mother's Day, 56-year-old Melinda took to her Twitter account to share a throwback photo featuring her and her three children — namely daughters Phoebe, 18, and Jennifer, 25, and son Rory, 21.

The mother of three wrote saying that it is a day to celebrate a mom, or honor a memory, or reflect on your own resilience and celebrate it depending on what it means to you as an individual. "I hope your day is a meaningful one," she added.

After 27 years of marriage, 65-year-old Bill and philanthropist Melinda decided to separate saying they have given it "a great deal of thought". The details of how the billionaire couple will split their USD 145 billion fortune have now surfaced online but the two have made it clear that they will, however, continue to work at their charity project Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The couple's 25-year-old Jennifer had revealed that her family has been going through “a challenging stretch of time” after the shocking announcement. The tech heiress wrote on her Instagram Story that she is still coping and learning how to support her own process and emotions first along with her family members at this time. She, however, said she is grateful for the space to do so. In Melinda French Gates's court documents, the philanthropist said her marriage was "irretrievably broken".

The Gates kids grew up in Seattle and attended the private Lakeside High School. Jennifer graduated from Stanford University in 2018 with a degree in human biology. She then took a break for a year to focus on her equestrian career and then went to Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine in New York. 21-year-old son Rory is reportedly an undergraduate student and their youngest child Phoebe is an aspiring ballerina who’s studied in New York City, as per cheatSheet.com.
