Govind Shastri (Jatin Sial) wishes to connect with three of his grown-up children who are busy in their own lives. He aims to bring his family closer, after his retirement, because he didn't have time for them earlier. However, by the time the trailer ends, we know that perhaps this is not the only reason Govind wants a family reunion. There is more to the story.
When actor Kitu Gidwani heard the concept of Potluck, she immediately accepted the offer. "I absolutely love comedy and so far I have never got the chance to show off my comedic skills, so I was very interested in this one," she revealed in an interview. It was "welcoming" for her to work with several dynamic people. "The concept, the writing, the direction, with a crazy mix of anecdotes make it a relatable watch," she added.
Shooting for Potluck was a thrilling yet heartwarming experience for Jatin Sial. "Every family get-together is special in its own way and brings together endless memories and experiences that stay with you for a lifetime," he said in the same interview. Describing his role, he said that he plays the character of Govind Shastri, the father of the family who gets together for a crazy Potluck. He further said the show rides high on the 'togetherness' of the families. It brings alive the quirks of the Shastri family.
