Vidya Balan will once again be seen playing a detective in Amazon Prime Video’s new detective movie Neeyat. The actor played an interesting private detective in the 2014 film Bobby Jasoos. The movie was announced on June 21 and the character posters are out.
On June 21, Abundantia Entertainment released a teaser of its upcoming murder mystery movie Neeyat. The intriguing glimpse of the film announced the arrival of a mystery with ominous visuals of high waves, strong winds and fire along with a perplexed Vidya Balan.
The actor will be playing the lead role of an unusual detective who will be investigating a murder mystery that involves a billionaire’s party and suspects that hide dark secrets.
The upcoming murder mystery marks Balan's return to cinemas after 4 years.
The film is produced by Amazon Prime Video in collaboration with Vikram Malhotra’s Abundatia Entertainment and will release in theatres soon. Here’s everything you should know about the upcoming film.

Vidya Balan Neeyat Release Date
The production house released the character posters of the movie on its official social media on Wednesday. Vidya Balan will be playing detective Mira Rao, Ram Kapoor will play the role of billionaire Ashish Kapoor, Niki Walia will play the role of tarot card reader Zara and Danesh Razvi will be playing event manager Tanveer.
The movie also features Shashank Arora as Ryan Kapoor, a spoiled rich brat, Amrita Puri as dangerous loyalist Kay, Dipannita Sharma as a devoted mother and wife Noor Suri, Neeraj Kabi as doctor Sanjay Suri, Prajakta Koli as Gigi, Shahana Goswami as Lisa and Rahul Bose as Jimmy Mistry. Each character hides a dark secret and will make the mystery even more complicated as the secrets are revealed.
The movie is directed by Anu Menon who has earlier worked with Vidya Balan on her 2020 movie Shakuntala Devi as a director. The dialogues are written by Kausar Munir while the story is written by Anu Menon along with Girvani Dhyani, Advaita Kala and Priya Venkataraman.
The trailer of the film will be released tomorrow. The movie is expected to release in theatres on July 7, 2023, in theatres only.
