Inspiration Behind Snow Angel

Reflecting on a night out with new friends in early 2022, Rapp shared how her judgment was clouded by a recent breakup, despite warnings from old friends. "I really let my judgment go when it came to the people that were around me," she admitted. The night took a traumatic turn, with Rapp waking up alone in a bathroom stall of a hotel bar, disoriented and with evidence of a distressing ordeal.

In the aftermath, Rapp grappled with processing the incident, eventually finding solace in music. Collaborating with her friend and co-writer, Alexander 23, she poured her emotions into "Snow Angel," a song born from the depths of her resilience. "We started writing it, and it was just the two of us. And the entire time I was writing it, I felt nothing," Rapp revealed. However, upon completing the song and sharing it with her inner circle, the gravity of her experience began to sink in.

Released as part of her debut album, "Snow Angel" encapsulates Rapp's journey of healing and self-discovery. In a recent conversation with Rolling Stone, she emphasized the album's honesty, describing it as a reflection of intense interpersonal relationships and experiences from the past five months, both positive and negative.

Through "Snow Angel," Reneé Rapp not only shares her narrative but also amplifies the voices of survivors and advocates for greater awareness and support surrounding issues of sexual assault and drug-facilitated violence. As she navigates her career in the spotlight, Rapp continues to inspire with her resilience and commitment to authenticity in her artistry.
