Netflix has announced a new film starring Juhi Chawla and Babil Khan in pivotal roles, where they'll play the mother-son duo and navigate life together.
Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, the film is directed by Vatsal Neelakantan.
Friday Night Plan teaser
The teaser starts with a mother informing her two sons that she might not return the same day from Pune, where she is shortly travelling to. Stressed about leaving her two teenage children alone, she asks them if they'll be okay. What transpires after that is a sudden change of events as the two brothers (played by Babil and Amrith Jayan) go out and about in the city. The teaser also gives a glimpse of a potential love story track as Babil is seen flirting with his classmate (played by Medha Rana) after showing some dance moves on the floor at a party.
Producer Farhan Akhtar took to his Instagram to share the release date announcement. "Your Friday Night Plan is with us," he captioned. The minute-long teaser offers a different genre of content with fresh pairings and a subtle storyline. It will be interesting to watch how relatable will it be to the audience.
Babil was recently seen in the critically acclaimed Qala on the same platform, while Chawla's web series debut in Prime Video's Hush Hush proved to be a solid entry for her in the world of OTT.
The film will stream on Netflix from September 1, 2023.
Netflix recently released the trailer writing, "School’s out, mom’s out and so are the two siblings. Will this be their best Friday Night Plan yet?"
