The food business is thriving in Ludhiana. The Holy Tree founded by Vinu Kumar curates delicious and healthy foods which are mainly gluten and sugar free. Kumar's effort is to promote lean eating because she believes 'food can heal you'. Her outlet has experimented with Mexican, Thai, Lebanese and Chinese in its healthy versions.

Detox food is a growing segment of the industry. The big task for entrepreneurs has been to strike the right balance between flavour and health quotient.

Suhani and Mehak's online gifting business has now expanded from personalise items to trousseau building. Via an online platform called Unwrap Talent Studio, they says they are channeling 'feelings' though their gifting solutions.

Experiential gifting has become very popular across India and people are wanting to go the extra mile for gifts.

Kirti Baweja, Tathya 

Baweja's start up is focussed on creating customised products for her customers from baked goods to event accessories and party theme decor. She tries to include interesting materials to the business options she puts on Instagram. On occasion of Rakhi she used wood to personalise names by etching, at times she picks metal segments to enhance the jewellery she offers.

Personalisation is her main pitch to the consumers who explore her items. As an entrepreneur she is using her influence in Ludhiana market to built loyalty and create a business with high margins.

You By Sherril

A rising clothing brand, You by Sherril is breaking into the cotton-comfort clothing market. Based out of Ludhiana, the small business, named after its founder, is looking at both activewear and loungewear, though it's yet to build on its collection. The brand, which has brown packaging with a rainbow painted artwork says it wants to opt for sustainable packaging. Follow the business here.

Sweet Treats by Gurkiran

A self taught baker, Sweets and Treats is breaking through the bakery market with decorative edibles and cakes across Ludhiana. Run as a small business by a young woman named Gurkiran. Jar cakes, cookies and other quick to go items are also on her customised menu.

Women entrepreneurs from Ludhiana are exploring new businesses across sectors. There's young entrepreneur, Shavy Jain who has turned teaching English into an omnichannel business, offering both online and offline classes. Certified as an English teacher from British Council, she began her journey in teaching phonics and eventually made it into a solopreneur business.

Due to her exposure to foreign learning and her intrinsic motivation of learning new things, she started her institute and now offers classes in Ludhiana, Punjab and other parts of Northern India
