One year back, I used to be totally clueless when someone would ask me, “What are you mad about? What gives you immense pleasure?” Though the question never mattered to me, when preparing for MBA interviews, this was the worst part I had to tackle. However, who knew that I would find the answer to this question on the day of the interview itself?

It was my first solo journey and I was so excited. For me, it was more than a journey. It was a chance for me to prove that I am now independent in a true sense and that I can tackle with the outside world efficiently. Papa dropped me outside the airport and the journey began. Well, though this might sound adventurous, this journey was actually for an MBA interview, and I was supposed to stay near the Chandigarh University. Interestingly, when I stepped outside the Chandigarh Airport, I could see a whole lot of wonderfully maintained buses (Unlike Uttar Pradesh), each one of which was going to some interesting destination. But anyway, I was strictly supposed to go to University.

For me, it was more than a journey. It was a chance for me to prove that I am now independent in a true sense and that I can tackle with the outside world efficiently.

How A Random Plan Turned To A Wonderful Trip

My interview ended at 11 in the morning and I had to board the next day, so I had more than a day at my disposal. What to do! On my way to the hotel, I found a bus going to Kasauli! Remember this name? One of our childhood fantasies Jaadu from Kasauli! Oh My God, I had to visit this place. I went to the hotel, changed as fast as I could and rushed to the bus stop.

What a breathtaking view it was. The mountains and the wind, plus the clean water lakes and the sunlight shimmering from its surface. I was so proud of my decision. Moreover, since it was my first solo journey, I was even happier as I was doing it all by myself. I was not very good at socializing with people, but this trip taught me how good it can be to interact with the strangers. Though we need to be cautious, my experience with strangers has always been good.  The people in the bus were too kind and also suggested to me what places I can visit in Kasauli.

Finally Reached Kasauli

Though we need to be cautious, my experience with strangers has always been good.  The people in the bus were too kind and also suggested to me what places I can visit in Kasauli.

Kasauli is a small town between Shimla and Chandigarh. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, this place gives you a seraphic feeling as you go for a walk on its blissful nature trails. I reached Kasauli at around 2 in the noon. Clueless as to where I should be going next, google baba helped me explore places. You really have to walk a lot! The flowers, the distinguished trees, the food on the way, everything summed up to be a rapturous experience for me.

As I was reaching a higher elevation, the winds were becoming chilly and the view was turning into a stunning one. Twists and turns and steep overhanging of mountains- dangerous, adventurous and exhilarating. Since I didn’t have much time, and I had to return Chandigarh on the same day, I could visit a few places only. One of them was the Gilbert Nature Trail. Another one was the Suicide point. Though there’s nothing like suicide here, the place is perfect if you wish to enjoy the view of entire Kasauli. The photo below is one of them, and believe me, it is unedited! This Panorama I clicked moving from a shady area to one with the sunshine, and the result was incredible.

Solo Journeys Are The Best Way To Assess Yourself At Handling  Circumstances

Overall, this first solo journey of mine helped me assess myself, if I can handle circumstances on my own or not. This was also a major success in boosting up my confidence and honing my interactive skills. I believe, travelling not only allows you to explore places but also to explore yourself. Solo Journeys are the best indeed, for you get to do things according to your own self. You get to observe things more closely. And at last, you also find a best friend within you!
