Announcement for the SheThePeople Women Writers Awards
We are delighted to announce the SheThePeople Women Writers Awards 2018. SheThePeople.TV is India’s first media platform dedicated to championing women and the stories they tell.
It hosts the SheThePeople Women Writers’ Fest, which is in its second year now. In 2017, it was held across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata. This year, the festival has been held in Mumbai and Delhi already, with plans to add new cities to its itinerary. The Festival puts the spotlight on authors, writers, bloggers, and editors, featuring firebrand panelists from across genres. It provides a forum for women writers from varied fields to discuss issues that are important to modern women. This festival focuses the dialogue around women writers who are breaking new ground in content, style, and storytelling.
Instituting the SheThePeople Women Writers Awards is a natural progression from the objectives the Women Writers’ Fest was started with — to promote and champion women’s voices in literature and nonfiction, and other formats.
Through these awards, we hope to bring to the forefront the incredible diversity and range of women’s writing in India and to be its most ardent champion
The SheThePeople Women Writers Awards celebrates Indian women’s writing, and champions fearless female voices. The Awards are being set up to recognise excellence, originality and expression in a variety of traditional and new formats of writing.
By identifying and celebrating exceptional existing and new talent in the field of writing, these Awards will laud women’s contribution to written history, creative writing, push gender parity in the world and bring attention and readers to deserving work by women.
This annual award will put the spotlight on literature, non fiction, poetry, and digital format writings by women.
Through the initiatives and promotions set up by the SheThePeople.TV, shortlisted works will be promoted and talked about across all our efforts and platforms
