The much-anticipated film of the year -- Amol Gupte’s Saina Nehwal biopic may fall behind schedule as reportedly it has been stalled for the time being now, DNA reported.
The report quotes an industry source saying, “Shraddha and Saina had met on a few occasions. Preparations were on in full swing. However, the movie may not happen because of some other glitches.” Another source added, “The project has been pushed. One doesn’t know if it is indefinitely postponed or whether it has been deferred for a bit.”
While fans were eagerly waiting for the film to release, now it has been postponed for an indefinite period.
Speculations are rife as what Shraddha Kapoor, who is reportedly struggling to match up to Saina’s style of playing badminton, feel after putting so much hard work to get ready for the biopic. Reportedly, the real and reel life Saina have been training hard and coached under Saina’s coach and former badminton player Pullela Gopichand for over a month-and-a-half now.

"There is no official deadline of the film. Amole (Gupte) wants to make a good movie and that's our priority. Even if there's a slight delay, we have their back," another source claimed.
Back in December, rumours had it that in spite of working hard to hone Saina’s skills in the game, Shraddha wasn’t able to cope. Both the ladies were spending countless hours to establish a perfect portrayal on-screen. However, according to a report, Saina was not pleased with the actress’ progress in training and was worried the film schedule might get delayed. The Aashiqui 2 actress has been trying her best to get accustomed to Saina’s lifestyle but an injury in her leg during a training session seriously hampered the movie’s progress.

The film was expected to start shooting last month. Some reports claimed the makers waited until Shraddha perfects her badminton skills. However, the reason for shelving the movie remains unknown.
