New Update

And that’s the reunion we all have been waiting for! Saina Nehwal and Pullela Gopichand have let go off their past dispute and shaken hands. The London Olympics bronze-medallist has once again enrolled training at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad.

It was back in 2014 when Saina backed out of the training at the Gopichand-run academy. Being constantly felt that her training "was not up to the mark", the shuttler had taken the big step. The former world number one then moved to Bengaluru, and trusted Vimal Kumar, one of the chief coaches of Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy. Under his guidance too, Saina hasn't able to make a big difference. The dangerous knee injury held her back as well.

"The training which I got was not up to the mark. We discussed on my game but whatever we applied on the court did not work out for me. My game required something different, something else," Saina had told in 2015, according to the Press Trust of India.

Saina is currently elated to be in Hyderabad and would give her time and energy to continue training under Gopichand. This time she is sure that by following Gopichand’s routine, she would clinch another medal. In fact, the 28-year-old  is confident that like last time when she took home the bronze medal at the London Games, this time too Gopichand’s strategies would not fail her, according to the Times of India.

The two-time India Open badminton champion finished with a Bronze at the recently concluded world meet.

Reportedly, she was impressed with PV Sindhu and her tactics. Sindhu, on the other hand, won a Bronze after finishing second best in a marathon 110-minute final against Japan's Nozomi Okuhara.

To give her regards and love to Sindhu, Saina, who enjoyed the final from the stadium, had walked up to Gopichand and praised the final match. Reportedly, she told him that she had "run out of fuel" after watching the thriller.

Now that both the power-packed shuttlers are under Gopichand, it would be interesting to wait for their upcoming performances.
