Let the broom of Diwali ki safai be held strongly by all genders so that the dust of patriarchy is removed even if it hides in the darkness.Â
Why is marriage all about bringing home a caretaker in many Indian families?
It is assumed that women’s existence depends on how much they can sacrifice for their families.
I am not saying that in marriage, partners don’t take care of each other. But there is more to a marriage than caregiving.
But it is high time now that we understand that women too can participate in discussions and contribute a lot through their intellect. Spare them just the kitchen role!
Why is it difficult to be a feminist in our society? Why do we unknowingly or knowingly follow certain patriarchal norms so that we can negotiate freedom in other aspects of our lives?
Every person has the right to live or change at their own pace and sometimes, there is nothing else left to do but to go separate ways.
Motherhood in our society is equal to walking on a tightrope- it is only praised and supported when it happens in a way society approves of it.
Even after becoming fathers, men don’t lose the right to work, grow and fulfil their desires. If fathers can manage both personal and parental happiness, then why can’t mothers?
