Kangana Ranaut to play Indira Gandhi in a film she will produce: Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut will play the role India's former prime minister Indira Gandhi in her upcoming political drama. It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi, it is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India," she said.

The actor also revealed that many accomplished actors will be essaying political figures like Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Morarji Desai, etc., in the film. Also, the movie will cover important events in India's history such as Operation Blue Star and the emergency period of the mid-1970s.

The political drama will be written and directed by Sai Kabir and will be produced by Manikarnika Films.
