The law student withdrew her allegations of sexual harassment against Swami Chinmayanand on October 13 this year.
Last month, the law student withdrew her allegation that former union minister Swami Chinmayanand, 72, had sexually assaulted her.
A little over a month after the law student in the Shahjahanpur rape case came out on bail in the extortion case on December 12, the former minister she accused of rape and sexual assault, Chinmayanand has also been granted bail by Allahabad High Court today.
Though Swami Chinmayanand had agreed to mostly all the accusations levelled against him, the girl was later on booked for extortion.
The brother of the rape survivor filed the affidavit in which he mentioned that the SIT is physically abusing them and mentally torturing them by trying to frame them in false cases.
Apart from the laptop and the pendrive, it has also recovered the law student’s handbag from the drain near Chinmayanand’s ashram in Shahjahanpur.
The girl was on her way to the court in UP’s Shahjahanpur for the hearing on her petition for pre-arrest bail when a large contingent of UP police comprising of the SIT stopped her car.
“There would be men standing outside my room to take me and the entire college knew what was happening. No one would dare talk to me,” says the survivor.
The survivor also alleged that evidence was removed from Chinmayanand’s Ashram where the alleged crime happened before the SIT went there to search the room.
“We are fully cooperating with the investigation, we may have to appear again,” said Chinmayanand’s lawyer, Om Singh.
