She accused Weinstein of making sexual advances at her. Judd even alleged that he put her film career in jeopardy after she refused to comply with his demands. She also added that her career went downhill because he spread lies about her in Hollywood after her refusal, CNN reported.

“Weinstein used his power in the entertainment industry to damage Ms. Judd’s reputation and limit her ability to find work,” the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in Santa Monica, states

Judd is a leading member of the Time’s Up movement against sexual harassment in the workplace. She alleged that because of Weinstein's baseless allegations against her, she lost bagging a role in the 1998 film “The Lord of the Rings”.

“Weinstein was retaliating against Ms Judd for rejecting his sexual demands approximately one year earlier, when he cornered her in a hotel room under the guise of discussing business,” it added.

Judd narrated the harassment she faced in the lawsuit. She said about 20 years ago, Weinstein invited her to a breakfast meeting at a Beverly Hills hotel room and asked her for a massage while wearing a bathrobe only. He ever offered to let her watch him shower, the suit claims. She refused. Enraged by this, Weinstein allegedly persuaded Peter Jackson, the director of the Lord of the Rings movies, to not cast Judd in the movie.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Weinstein has denied the allegations. Weinstein "championed her work" and approved Judd for casting in two of his movies, the statement reads.

Judd first spoke up against Weinstein last year during a chat with The New York Times.
