New Update
amazon prime march releases
We have gotten used to sitting in our pyjamas and watching series or films in any position of choice. Sure, the excitement of theatres opening is there but the effort to change and mentally prepare oneself to step out has been a persistent issue. As we enter the month of March this year, the new normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic has made us rather too comfortable with binge-watch culture.

Even though films are now taking the effort and courage to delay their release date for a theatrical release, people in India have found series as an attractive selling point to stick with Over-The-Top platforms. There have been numerous debates on whether OTT is the new normal? Is it the end of theatres?

No, it is not the end of theatres and yes OTT does seem to be the new normal. But the two can also coexist. The lineup for Amazon Prime in the coming month seems interesting because it will see a reprisal of much older, successful series, new films and a reality show.

The Boys Present: Diabolical

Release Date: March 4

Most people loved to see the cynical idea of what makes and breaks a superhero. The plot of the series was certainly unusual as the superheroes were the antagonists in the series while the people out to kill them were the heroes. The series takes a plunge into the world of extreme powers and makes us question them. The Boys Diabolical is a spin-off of the original series, which is also available online. It is about super-powered babies mowing down SWAT teams and it is animated. It features eight episodes. It is inspired by anime, Korean horror, amongst others. It is created by Eric Kripke.

Upload Season 2

Release Date: March 11

Best known for The Office US and Space Force, Greg Daniel made the comedy series in 2020 which was dismissed by some as a rip-off of The Good Place, a show about the afterlife and what we preview as hell or heaven. However, Daniel had said that he has not watched the series and after the release of Upload realised that both were in the same zone. The show was loved by the audience and no wonder is returning for a second run. It is about Nathan, played by Robbie Amell who is at crossroads in his afterlife and unexpectedly his former girlfriend Ingrid, played by Allegra Edwards arrives hoping to strengthen the relationship but he is still yearning for customer service angel Nora, played by Andy Allo.
